I explore inner worlds for a living. Mine, and other people’s.

Meet Anna

I’ve been poking around inside my own head for as long as I can remember, and at some point it turned into a job. I run Inner World Lab, where I help other people do the same thing, usually with less flailing than I did.

Things I’ve tried

  • Left a corporate job at Universal Music for Canada with one suitcase and no plan. Ended up as a runner at one of Canada’s top restaurants, and in an identity crisis I hadn’t seen coming. Ecstatic dance got me out of it.
  • Did a university exchange in Argentina in Spanish without speaking a word of Spanish.
  • Played violin in a street band in Haarlem. We got kind of famous locally and started getting booked for weddings.
  • Moved to Brazil for a man I’d never met in person. Married him eventually. Unmarried him eventually too.
  • Bought silk in Vietnam, came home to Latvia, learned to sew, and made a three-piece kimono line out of it.
  • Started aggressive inline skating at 36. Currently working on slides, jumps, and ramps.
  • Started Inner World Lab in 2025. It was supposed to be a museum.

Speaking topics

01

Self-discovery as fieldwork

For the curious.

Most people treat the inner life as something to manage. I treat it as a place to explore. A talk about what changes when you stop trying to fix yourself and start trying to find out what’s actually there.

02

Who you are when your job title goes away

For the transitioning.

AI is about to remove a lot of professional identities, and most people have no idea how much of themselves is wrapped up in what they do. I’ve lost mine more than once. This talk is about building the kind of self-knowledge that holds when the scaffolding comes down.

03

How to build something that sounds like you

For the founders.

The world has very loud opinions about how to do it right. Investors, advisors, the market, the algorithm. I’ve been building a different way, starting from the inside out, staying calibrated to what’s actually there, and treating alignment with yourself as a competitive advantage. This is a talk about what that costs, and what it protects you from.
